WHERE ARE WE TODAY? First so many of our Adult Day Training team have been here throughout the process keeping our supply chain rolling for our partners, with the added opportunity of assembling five thousand lunches a week for the kids in our community. The Board and myself are committed to our team and have laid off no one. We are enduring the challenges together. Anxiety abounds because of all the unknowns. We will get through this together, #TEAMKENTUCKY.
I have been in contact and have submitted plans to the Commonwealth as required for Adult Day Training. If you would like a copy just email me. I have been trying to move the needle since the beginning of May. In the last twenty four hours I have seen some movement from the stakeholders to possibly give us some direction. I am more encouraged today then I was last week. Folks are talking about us and that is a good sign! Conversations today and tomorrow in Frankfort are certain.
The Supported Employment area candidly puzzles me. Thirty five of our 37 guys working in the retail grocery business are working. We are not allowed to see them in person which is frustrating. So understand, our guys are essential, and those that support them can’t be there in person while wearing a mask. But you could go through the line multiple times a week for groceries? We love that our guys are considered essential. Pandemic teaching us something?
The Children’s program is solely reliable on First Steps. We are following their lead. Our team is seeing about thirty percent of our normal visits. First Steps has been giving us some communication on a regular basis, I am grateful. They are considering options for the new normal. Hopeful about new children being seen in this wonderful, life changing service comes sooner than later.
We have received our Payroll Protection Program loan (PPP) through the CARES ACT. We will be able to utilize it for May expenses. This loan/grant will help maintain our financial stability. Thanks for all of your calls, donations, food and driving by to see us. We are here and working to reopen as the best community partner we can be. Any questions, please call 859-344-9322.
